What the press made of County loss

The Sentinel
IF EVER a performance mirrored a season, this was exactly it.
Lacking any real creativity up front, and always susceptible to conceding, Crewe’s fragile confidence was again exposed as three goals in 18 minutes either side of half-time ended any hopes of getting anything from this match.
Steve Davis had targeted at least four points from two home games in four days against Colchester United and Notts County but ended with none as they shipped six goals without reply.
There was little separating the sides until Jake Cassidy struck moments before half-time but yet again it was a second half to forget for the Alex with the game out of sight with still more than half an hour to play.

The Chronicle
CREWE Alex slumped to a second-consecutive 3-0 home defeat on Tuesday night.
Their defeat, brought about by a Jake Cassidy double and a Shaun Harrad strike within the first 15 minutes of the second half, has left them rooted to the foot of League One.
The Alex have now shipped 27 goals in the league – 12 of them in the last three – and it has heaped more pressure on the manager Steve Davis.
A small crowd voiced their feelings at the final whistle, and there is likely to be a lot of soul searching at Gresty Road over the next few days.

Nottingham Post
THREE goals, one clean sheet, a fifth successive win at Crewe and now six matches unbeaten.
Whichever way you want to put the stats in order, the numbers are currently stacking up quite nicely for Notts County.
This 3-0 win was also their biggest victory of the season as Shaun Derry’s side ruthlessly punished the worst defence in the entire country, leaving Crewe manager Steve Davis under increasing threat of being handed a P45.
It left the Railwaymen rooted to the foot of the League One table, while Notts continue to soar towards the top half thanks to Jake Cassidy’s well-taken double, while Shaun Harrad also got in on the act on his first start of the campaign.
