Harvey Davies says he is ready for action after a few weeks on the sidelines.
The keeper, on loan from Liverpool, was ever-present in the league and made 26 appearances in total before the turn of the year.
But Manager Lee Bell made a change in mid-December, with Tom Booth taking over between the sticks.
However, Booth suffered a chest injury last weekend and has been ruled out of the clash with Crawley Town on Saturday (3pm).
Davies, 20, who played the second half at Prenton Park and maintained a clean sheet, said: “It’s not nice what happened and I hope Boothy is alright.
“I think I did what I needed to do at Tranmere. Now I have to show everyone I am ready to come back in when I’m needed.
“I have to work hard every day – that was the only way I was going to get a chance again.
“It was hard for me when I came out of the team but, looking back, I probably wasn’t at 100% and it has perhaps done me a favour.
“I’m here to gain experience and (the break) gave me the chance to get my confidence back and focus on the basics again.”
Booth, 19, suffered a pneumothorax (collapsed lung) at Tranmere but is now recovering and hopes to return to light training next week.
