21 February 2018

The Chronicle

Two goals in injury time saw Crewe Alex beaten in dramatic circumstances by Exeter City at Gresty Road on Tuesday.

Atfer a tense encounter Shaun Miller thought he had won it for the home side when he struck the opener on 88 minutes.

But incredibly the Railwaymen allowed Jordan Moore-Taylor to force home a leveller on 92 minutes, and then even deeper into injury time Jayden Stockley broke Crewe hearts with a far post header.

Shock was replaced by boos which rang around the stadium at the final whistle, as the home side threw away a chance to record back-to-back wins for the first time since August.

And it leaves Crewe deep in trouble near the foot of League Two.

Stoppage-time goals from Jordan Moore-Taylor and Jayden Stockley saw Exeter City turn what looked to be a late defeat into a 2-1 win over struggling Crewe Alexandra to move back into the play-off spots.

In an even game, both sides used the ball nicely but struggled to create chances before Shaun Miller's 88th minute goal was cancelled out by Moore-Taylor's stoppage time equaliser and Stockley headed home with practically the last touch of the game.
